Hi all,

i am facing a problem with my hdd.

when i start my pc, the win xp loading screen is loading, after a while it come out a msg: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

i try to figure out the problem, and googling the solution. these are the things i found out:

i put my win xp installation disk and boot it, enter recovery console by press R, ran chkdsk /p, after 25%, it comes out with a msg: one or more unrecoverable error found
chkdsk /r also gives me the same result.
i tried fixboot, it comes out: the disk may be damaged, and fixboot unable to solve my problem.
fixmbr says: it might be file system corrupted.
bootcfg /rebuild also cant fix my problem.
then i reboot my pc, run xp installation disk again, when enter fdisk, i can see my hdd partition, but it shows unknown file system.
i then i try to use an external hdd case, connect to another pc through usb, but xp cant detect my hdd. even my friend's ubuntu also cant detect the disk.

i need some technical asistant

thx

Hello,

Download the manufacturer Diags and test the HDD for failure.
