I bought 2 crucial 500gb drives on the same day and installed them on the same day in a new build. Just checking the drive Smart stats one day I found that one of the drives says the "power on hours" is 2084 hours and the other says 4636 hours. Both drives are working fine just wondering about the differences. Another weird thing is the drive with the most hours says 100% lifetime remaining and the one with the lowest hours says 96% lifetime remaining. Any thoughts?

What SMART checking software are you using and which model drives? Not all of them are accurate, esp. in regard to the SMART stats that are OEM configured and/or newer drives.

I use Hard Disk Sentinel, updated frequently for newly released drives and there's a trial version available: https://www.hdsentinel.com/index.php

They are Crucial MX500 and am using the Crucial Executive software included with drives. I will take a look at hdsentinel software and see if there are any diff and let you know. As I said the drives seem to be working great just wondering about the differences.

Using hdsentiel it shows just about the same thing. 86 days to 193 days. Thanks for the response. Not a big deal just curios as to the diffs.

Problems with SSD + HDD combination
Hello, I recently purchased a Crucial MX100 512GB SSD. I planned to run Windows 7 on this SSD, along with certain programs and games of my choice. All my other programs were to stay on my 1TB HDD. After installing the SSD, I looked for suitable cloning software. I wanted something that would...

Hello Brain Trust, I recently purchased a Mushkin Chronos Deluxe SSD, 240GB. Upon installing the drive - making sure that my SATA ports were set to AHCI in the BIOS - both the BIOS and the Windows 7 Ultimate setup disk (via bootable USB) recognized the drive. However, just after the...
