So here is the deal...
I have a laptop. i dropped said laptop.
Since then i have had a 'clicking' hard drive and a 'No bootable devise found' error message.
So i think cool, just buy a new hard drive, it should be good. When i buy a new hard drive the clicking sound has gone but i am getting this error message...
Code:
Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 v14.0.8
Copyright (c) 2000-2009 Broadcom Corporation
Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
All rights reserved.
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
No bootable devise -- insert boot disk and press any key
i'm not sure what specs you guys will need but this is what i know...
If you need more i will try and find out.
Code:
OS: WIN7
Processor: AMD V140
Graphics: ATI Mobillity Radeon HD 4250
Memory: 2GB DDR3 Memory
Storage: 160GB HDD
Any ideas on whats happened anyone?
Any help would be much apprieciated.

Re: Hard drive problem

The "PXE" error means the laptop is attempting to boot from the network card because the system has checked every other bootable device and has found nothing it can boot from. I take it you did install Windows 7 on the new drive and it completed with no errors during installation?

Re: Hard drive problem

I have solved the problem.
turns out Windows 7 was not installed onto the the new hard drive that i had put in. so it had nothing to boot up.

i solved the problem by using a windows 7 intall CD and just installing it.
(This message was posted for any Googlers witgh the same problem, thanks.)
