Ok so i have had this external hdd for about 3 months and then it started to say error delayed writing to I/$hift, then after while it said it about my documents and when i looked in there... evrything was gone, all my work just empty folders and it said that the work was there. So i panicked as you do and i unplugged it and took it out of the computer and put it back in the computer, the usual stuff. after awhile it remembered that it had all my stuff in there dispite saying it was blank so many times. I managed to get some important stuff out and thought that, that was it and it would be fine now. however then i tthought that the folders were empty again. Now things are worse then before, it says there is no room on the hdd at all, i tried to uninstall the software and sometimes it doesnt connect. but somtimes i watch the freeagent software and it tells me that it's back it's connected, then a second later it isnt. sometimes the light goes on when it is connected sometimes it doesnt and sometimes i see my work appear for a second only to go away again.

the name of it is the Seagate Freeagent 500gb External Hard Drive, i dont have external hubs, ive connected it to another computer and it didn't work, i really want to keep the stuff that is on it.
