I have a 1tb Seagate external hard drive that is damaged and I recently ran a scan with the hdd regenerator and it told me that the master boot record is damaged do you know how I can repair the device?

My System


On another computer download and run Minitool Partition Wizard. Since you are not booting from this drive, you don't need to create a Bootable USB Flash drive.
Start Partition Wizard and if the Seagate drive is shown, then select it and choose Repair MBR from the Left Menu.

Also, ensure that once your drive is accessible, take a backup of all your stuff and run Hard drive tests, Spunk can recommend the tool for you based on your manufacturer.

Hello i tried using Minitool Partition Wizard but it was unable to repair the mbr is there any other software i can use?

The MBR is located in sector 0. Whenever sector 0 is inaccessible or "damaged", it is often a symptom of a much wider problem. I suspect that the drive's user area is totally inaccessible, not just the first sector.

@Techmgj, can you show us a SMART report? You could use CrystalDiskInfo for this.
