HI,I would like to replace my existing 200GB HDD with a 1TB HDD.
I have a GATEWAY GT4010 MEDIA CENTER, i am not sure if my HDD is IDE
or sata if there is even a difference i know it is a WD.
Also what i want to do is use a external HDD to off load all that is on the
existing HDD,then reinstall it back on to the new HDD.
Now when i get ready to reinstall off loaded stuff can i pick and chose what want to put back on is this possible,i am not a computor expert so lets try to keep it simple.
Right now i am having problems with BSOD on firefox and if i can change HDD thats going away real fast getting tired of the problems,THANKS

Hi and Welcome to TSF
if you open your case up and look at the hard drive this pic will show you which hard drive you have in there

If your current drive is not failing
you can backup all your information and data to an external USB drive as long as it can hold that much data

As for your BSOD
I would first check the hard drive for any errors before changing it
Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

because BSOD could be due to some other hardware malfunctions
also the error codes with BSOD if you can post them here would help us
