Hi there, new to this forum as I can't seem to figure this one out on my own. Forgive me if it's been asked before, but I can't seem to find any threads that match my exact situation.

I had it plugged in once and the cable (USB 2.0 A to Mini B) bent while still plugged in. Eventually the ribbon that attached the USB mini plug to the hard drive itself came off clean and now I can't use it. The hard drive worked fine prior; never really dropped it or anything but now, as a result of the main a plug coming off, it doesn't register when plugged in.

Is there a way for me to access my files or do I need a pro to intervene? I was hoping there was some sort of adapter I could get to connect it, rather than pay someone to do it which can be quite exxy. I thought a SATA adapter would've worked but wasn't what I needed. Hoping I've just missed something and it's a simple fix, but any help on the matter would be be greatly appreciated.

Is that connector forced into the socket? Can you not upload a picture without the connector and ribbon to see the port?

Also the bottom of the drive showing the Circuit Board to see if that connector is soldered onto the circuit board.
