Re: pxe-m0f ERROR?!

My laptop has the exact same message. but it doesn't allow me back in. I'm guessing that the motherboard over heated and went haywire. (pardon the lack of terminology) I can't access any thing now. could use some help on this.

Re: pxe-m0f ERROR?!

The PXE error means your laptop is trying to boot from the network adapter, which means the system can't find any other bootable device.

This could be bad news as it's possible the hard drive has failed. You can test it with the drive maker's diagnostic software for DOS which runs from a bootable CD. The links are here: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Download the ISO file from the appropriate manufacturer and create a CD with it using IMGBurn from here: Download ImgBurn 2.5.5.0 - FileHippo.com

Boot your faulty PC from that CD and test it's hard drive.

If the drive passes the test it obviously means it hasn't failed but you need to re-install Windows on it.
