Hey guys. I have a little problem where my bios is not recoognizing any hard drives at all. It was working fine 3 days ago then I went outta town and when I returned no hard disks could be read. I unplugged my hard drive when I left and when I returned I accidentally turned the pc on without it connected then turned the pc off and connected it. When I restarted it could not read the hard drive. I tried using different sata ports (in the POST it says auto detecting sata1 or whatever number port it is and it takes forever then it finally says not detected). I tried 2 other hard drives 1 ide and 1 sata(bad I believe). I don't know anything about the bios much but ithink I turned raid off and for some reason in my boot sequence boot from other devices is always enabled.
Here is some of my bios info(relevant settings):
Bios flash protection: disabled
Ioapic function: enabled
Under boot sequence:
Boot from other devices: yes
Under trusted computing:
Tcg/tpm support: no
Under integrated periperals:
Usb controler: enabled
Extra ide controller: enabled
Under onchip ata devices:
Pci ide busmaster: disabled
Onchip sata controller: disabled
And under standerd cmos features it detects no ide master or slave.
Anything else u want me to provide just ask but I need my pc.
OK, so you only have 1 hard drive? If so, you should have all Raid options disabled. is SATA. I would put it into SATA Port 1. You should make sure your boot sequence order starts with a SATA hard drive as well.
If you click on the Youtube link on the top of the video you can see it just fine. Try removing the CMOS battery for 5 minutes and replace. You will have to enter BIOS and set time and date to present and any other custom settings you had.
I circled in Yellow where you need to go to remove it. What you need is a small thin flat head screwdriver and insert it between the two metal table and gently pop it up. Make sure that you first turn off the power supply, remove the power cord and then press the case power switch to drain any residual power.
Are you able to get into the BIOS? I would try downloading the hard drive manufactures bootable diagnostic tool. Boot off that and see if it can find your drive(s).
Noo I'm on a phone but I do ha ve a friend with a computer can I put the diagnostic tool on a usb and use it like that? The reason I think i ts the motherboard is because I tried 3 different drives 1 sata and 2 ide all working and nonw of them worked. Besides 1 of the ide drives that worked once then got the boot device message.
