Idea

I was given a computer by my brother-in-law, it has 2 hard drives but both are listed as NTFS File System, how can I change the drive that doesn't have Windows XP(boot drive) to a FAT32 File System instead of NTFS File System? thanks

It depends on if you want a clean slate on the drive, if so you can just go into disk managment and reformatt it to Fat 32 or if there is information on it you want to keep you can try programs like Partition Magic. If using this option you are best to backup anything you can not afford to loose as thing can go wrong

here is a link for a trial version of Partition magic ( 7 days )

https://www.soft32.com/download_151.html

Formatting from Windows is pretty straight forward
The easiest way is go to my computer, then right click the drive you want to format and it will bring up a window, choose the file format you want ( Fat 32, NTSF, ect ) then choose quick format or not, then hit format.
you can also formatt through admin tools in the control panel
( Control panel/Admin Tools/computer management/disk management), top window on the right , right click on the drive you want and choose format

Send a message via MSN to linderman
just a bit of added info here guys >>>> the original poster didnt state how big his drive was >>>>>>>\

but WIN XP and disk management doesnt really like Fat32 >>>> Micro$oft tries to discourage the formatting of Fat32 by not letting you format a partition any larger than 32gig with Fat32

so >>>> if you have a partition larger than 32gigs and you format that partition with Fat32 you wont be able to use more than 32gigs of it ??????

also just for useless info >>>> Fat32 will bug out if you put a file on it larger than 4gigs !~! like a dvd movie or an image of your hard drive >>>> it does not like any file larger than 4 gigs ???

goodluck >>>>> if you want the documented articles on this >>> just holler
