here is my dilemma:i could not open a partition drive!
i had my hard disk parttioned at three parts with C as the system and the two other D and E as secondary....
last time i accessed it was, i was making a "copy and paste" from a cd containing Mpegavfiles and those realted with video cd's to drive D.
then i tried to open the copied files in media player and posted an error.
after that, i could not anymore access the whole drive d.
everytime i tried, it gave me a prompt to format the drive.
i try to check its status, it is "offline" (whatever that meant")which i take as not good
so, is there any wayto recover the files in that drive?
i have placed some autocad files in that drive ,is there a way to recover at least its backup files?
i hope you can help me with this! thanks

try this partition table recovery software www.p-t-d-d.com

you must manually enter the web address and remove the hyphens I inserted as that site got banned from having direct hot links due to spamming / but they are however; the king of partition fixing software

or this one is free but IMO not as good

If Linderman's suggestion doesn't work, you can also try R-Studio from www.r-tt.com, both programs have free demo's that you can download and attempt to retrieve your files. If they find the files, then you have to buy the program in order to restore the files.

I used R Studio and it worked great (costs $49).

Here is my thread from 3 weeks ago when I had a problem.
