I have an OCZ Agility SATA 3 drive, and as Asus M5A88 motherboard, running on Windows 7. Most of the time, everything runs fine - however, occasionally (i.e. every 3 days to a week, on average), my computer crashes and, after it reboots, it fails to detect my solid state drive.
After this happens, it takes several restarts before my BIOS detects the drive again, after which everything is fine for a few days, then eventually it crashes again.
I have another hard drive installed (older non-solid state), and my BIOS is able to detect that drive always without fail.
I've updated the firmware for the hard drive, and I've flashed my motherboard's BIOS to the newest version, with no luck. I've tried different SATA slots, and a different cable, again with no effect. I've also run several hard drive tests to see if I can find any errors, and it runs perfectly (when it's actually running).
Is there some incompatibility happening? Or is something defective and, if so, which is more likely, the hard drive or the motherboard?
