How to ID if drive is encrypted?

Is there a way to just view files on a drive (such as with Windows Ultimate Boot CD) and tell if it's an encrypted drive or not?

If you are seeing files without entering the decryption passphrase, then the drive will not be necrypted. EFS files show up green, but third party encryption generally won't. If the entire drive is encrypted, then the directory structure will be encrypted and there is no way to see the filenames till it is decrypted - if it is the boot drive, the OS won't be able to boot till the key is validated.
