I connected my hard drive from an old computer to my laptop using a hard drive dock. I want to take the music from my user documents on the old hard drive and transfer them to my laptop but when I try to open my user folder I get a message that says "You don't currently have permission to access this folder" and in smaller print "Click continue to permanently get access to this folder" and when I click continue it just loads forever and never actually opens. I really need to be able to open this folder because I bought a lot of music and it would be a huge loss of money if I cant get the music, please help, thanks.
And an additional few things, when I first open up properties it says that the folder contains 0 bytes of information, which I know for a fact is not true. Also, when I went to the Security tab then clicked continue. I tried adding myself through there but I kept getting these "an error occured when applying security information to______" and when I would click continue another one would pop up.
No, I apologize for not responding earlier, I unpluged the dock and replugged it in and it is currently changed the security settings. Thanks you, I will return if for some reason it doesnt work.
I tried clicking continue for 1 then clicking cancel for the next. then I go into the folder and I change the security setting on the file directly and it works. Is there any faster way of doing this?
