I want to format my slave drive because it has a previous partition from my xp OS and I would like to use that space for other things. My problem is I dont know alot about computers so I'm wooried if I format it I wont be able to boot my OS if it's linked somehow. When I go into Disk Management this is what it tells me C: is Healthy (Boot,Page File,Primary Partition) and G:is Healthy(Active,Primary Partition) So with my slave drive being active does that mean that its being used by my OS and therefore if I delete it it will affect my system?

Being active does not means it's being used by the OS. If the OS was using the partition you wouldn't be able to format the drive. If there's nothing you need on the drive, try and format it and see if Windows allows it. Another way to see if the OS is using it is to disconnect it and boot the machine. You may have to reset the jumpers if these are ATA drives and you're not using cable select.
