In order for data to be accessed, the drive has to be recognised by the system, and that's not going to happen if it's circuitry is damaged. The only way to retrieve the data is to send the drive to a data recovery specialist who disassembles the drive and reads the data directly from the platters using special equipment. However, that is mega-expensive.
