I have a Dell Inspiron 530 and am trying to do a system recovery with the disks Dell gave me, but it isn't finding the HDD. Here is what Dell has listed for the HDD MN9241 HARD DRIVE..., 500G, S2, 7.2K, 16M, LEAD FREE..., WD-TOR.
The path between the CMOS and the BIOS is damaged and has been for about 1.5years or so. I had no issues until recently when I contacted Microsoft about an update issue, then after following what they told me I started getting a bunch of blue screens mainly about a failed hibernation when the OS is trying to shut down though I never tell it to. I was told by a tech person that a recovery was the best option, I got around to doing it today and no HDD is detected by windows.
Earlier today while trying to boot to get something off the computer I got messages saying something about no HDD then saying SATA0 and 1 are installed. I only use 2SATA devices. Also it seems to be taking ridiculously long,a couple of minutes now compared to seconds before, to get past the part where the Dell logo is.
Is there a fix for this or has the MB taken a dump?
