I have a HDD from my old computer and I just wanted to put it in my new pc which has much faster specs, just to see how my older games played. Once I put the new HDD in and booted from it I got an error message about windows not starting to prevent damage to my pc and to check it for viruses. Its wierd because the HDD worked in my old pc no problem right after!
Im not sure what the problems is?:4-dontkno

Your Windows install from old computer wont work in new computer due to the major hardware differences and the drivers that were installed when the OS was first setup. You can use the drive you just cant use it to BOOT the computer off of ! Make sense now ?
