Hi everyone,
Well it seems my hard drive (500gb dual core) in my desktop won't spin anymore. Basically it started saying cmos settings are wrong, then kept asking for a boot disk and wouldn't start windows. So I called a computer guy and he took the HD out and said it's not spinning. Now he's taken it away to see if it will work in another computer but he says it doesn't look good. I back up but mistakenly I only backed up C drive and the slave drive is where all my precious photos for the last decade are. He said if it doesn't work, I'll be looking at thousands with a data recovery place. I'm really worried. Short of praying, what can I do? He suggested freezing it in hopes it will work a little bit but I said definitely don't do that because it's precious and if I need to spend money on data recovery, I'll try to afford it. So he's just going to hook it up to another computer.
Any advice?
Thank you
