Hi All,

At my current job, we need to put up a link on our website for our clients to be able to download software that will completely erase/wipe out their PC's hard drives.

We need software that is free and easily downloadable from a website.

This is very important so I figured I'd ask everyone on here to see if any one has any recommendations/suggestions on which program we should use.

I thank you in advance.

Josh

Just a reminder, even though this is a free program and a great one, before I would post a link for a large number of individuals to use that program, might be a good idea to get permission from the publisher to post the link for their mass use.

Here is another great one to consider:

Yes, but remember the reviews is talking about the level of wiping done. Depending on your needs, it might work.

Wiped it right out...looks good to me kinbard.

This software will have to boot on startup right? You can't run it once windows has already loaded correct?

Yeah, you boot from it. Thats so it can do a low level format.

You have to choose and XXClone is a great program. However, many techs on here prefer the KillDisk program. Kind of like a Chevy and a Ford argument. I use both so can't criticize either. I think the Killdisk is a little more convenient for what I do, but you have to choose what is best for you and your situation.

As far as the reviews, some who are not as technically aware might be critical of one or the other as far as ease of use and features because they have not used both frequently. Those of us in the tech business are aware and use both programs and recommend both.

You can't lose with either program.
