First I check Local Disk (C:) Properties used space, then I download a new file in my computer, and I see the used space increases, but then when I delete the file it does not go to it's previous used space, it only erases like half of what it was.
If you download, you also create a temproary file. It will eventually go away, but not when the downloaded file is deleted. You could also be seeing the Shadow copy space being used by the file if it was added by the VSS
