I am unable to transfer larger files from my internal hard drive to my DNS-323 I have on my network. My first assumption is that this was just a failure on the part of my NAS, however, transferring the same files from the hard drive my OS is installed on works flawlessly.

I have Windows 7 installed on a 300GB drive and then have a 1.5TB drive that I use for file storage. My hope is to allow my computer to update my NAS nightly to reflect files on my 1.5TB drive. Currently this crashes even if there is only a single 150MB file being transferred over. The same file can easily be transferred from my 300GB hard drive to the NAS.

There is no real error message when transferring from the 1.5TB drive. The transfer rate just slows to practically zero and then my system lags up until I have to close the process through the task manager or hit cancel and wait it out. Any insight as to why this may be occurring would be greatly appreciated.

This is my first attempt at doing hard drive backup, so any advice as to a
better system setup is also appreciated.

System:
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7057
Build 7057

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz, 3000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

Sounds more like a Win 7 issue than an actual HDD problem.
