Hi everyone,
Around a week ago, I dropped my external HDD on the floor and didn't try it out afterwards, thinking nothing of it.
This morning, I tried running only to hear it grind away and make all sorts of weird sounds. After panicking most of the day, I came back with a clearer head to look for solutions.
On a site I was told that the actual data may likely be ok, but the case needs replacing. So I've ordered this one:
3.5 SATA USB External Hard Drive Disk Enclosure Case UK | eBay
The old one is a Packard Bell Sprint wit up to 750 GB capability ( I bought it around 4 years ago).
Packard Bell Sprint 500 GB - External Hard Drive with reviews and price comparison at dooyoo.co.uk
According to the box, it's Stata 3.5.
Any thoughts, feedback and tips what to do. Is it complicated to disassemble? And to put into the new one?
I don't often take apart machinery so I don't want to mess it up any further.
