OS: Win XP SP2



I spent a long time searching for a solution, but nothing helped. In desperation I formatted and reinstalled Win XP SP2 on my desktop PC, and everything started working again. Be careful to ensure that the Hard Drive is backed up before hand, as all data is destroyed when resorting to this measure.

It is detected in device managment, under drives, and also in disk management.
