Could some one please tell me the working toll free phone number of Seagate warranty support ? I try to find it online but no luck in getting it.

Expansion Portable Hard Drive

Model Number
STEA1500400
Capacity
1500 GB

When I registered it it gives me -

Warranty
Valid till 12/Dec/2018

I trying to get them update my warranty to Sept. 1, 2019 when I login-

https://support2.seagate.com

Nobody there seems to able to update it for me after I e-mailed them with proof of purchase and told them to do so, more than 2 weeks ago, many times already till now.

I couldn't find any phone number on their Seagate website to call.

Very poor support.

Thanks

Zhong

I doubt that they will increase your warranty.
Electronic parts have a shelf life, and they have given this drive this much time. If it fails after that, they would expect you to buy another one.
If you're having problems with your drive, you can check the warranty here

I am not asking to increase my warranty. Just asking for the 1 year warranty
support from date when I purchased it which is standard warranty for all newly bought seagate hard drives in Canada/North America.
They said Shopper's Drug Mart bought from vendor which not authorized re-seller, therefore I am having problem updating it.

Nothing shows up when I entered all my details on the Warranty Validation site you gave me.

Thanks

Check you typing and inserting the correct numbers and letters. You should get something from the results, it is never blank.
You should get a message that it is and OEM product and not available for Warranty, or that it is out or in the warranty period.
If you need help with this, please include your Full Model # and Part # from the Seagate Hard Drive. Or attach a picture of the drive showing the #'s

But receipt date I bought it was Sept. 1, 2018.

Seagate told me to contact Shopper's Drugmart customer service to talk to them about it. Re: Unauthorized reseller.

So I don't know what is going on.

Thanks

If they don't recognize that reseller, you are likely out of luck. If the drive isn't registered, then they guestimate the warranty based on production date.

It also doesn't surprise me that it wasn't updated within 2 weeks (assuming they will actually change it for you).

Your drive is under warranty with Seagate until the 12th of December. If you are having problems with it start a New Return Service To ship back to Seagate. You may need to include Seatools results of failure.
Be aware that if they honor your warranty, you will receive a Refurbished drive in return for free. These drives tend to fail much faster then new Seagate drives.
