I want to copy my win10 64 bit hard drive to another machine that is also 64bit
and preinstalled with windows 10 home edition that is bare except for the OS. How do I hook up these two computers to do this? If software is needed, please inform me of any free software that will facilitate this. Do I connect the two computers with an ethernet cable? I wrote before about this but at the time I thought the other computer was going to be a 32bit machine.
They are both 64 bit. Sorry for the confusion. The drive I want to copy has
windows 10 home edition build 1803. Both computers are mini desktops: An Acer Aspire X3400G, And a Dell Optiplex3010 i5. Thanks

Remove the HDD from the source pc and attach it to the destination pc. The destination PC's hdd will be on SATA port 0, so connect the source hdd to SATA port 1. Turn on the pc and the newly added drive will be detected, installed and accessible from This PC (Windows/File Explorer), then simply copy and paste the stuff that you want, no software is required for that.

As stated, this is the easiest way to copy the personal files from the Users file to the new computer. You will not be able to copy any programs, they must be installed,. just Personal files (ie) Pictures, Music, Documents etc.

Stancestans: Now I'm wondering if I can attach the sata 1 drive (as stated in you post-and thanks for replying) onto the destination computer and just leave it there as drive f or g or whatever.
But, can this be done with the two drives on a small form factor (or mini desktop)? I'm not sure if it has enough room or a second bay for the second hard drive. What if I remove the dvd drive and use that bay?

Of course you can.

You are better placed to determine if there are free hdd bays or not since you have physical access to the computers. If there's none, you can displace the dvd drive. Alternatively, you can purchase a 3.5" hdd enclosure and use the disc externally via usb.
