My memory drives or whatever they are called aren't showing up on my computer. I have 3 more drives that I can store files in besides c drive. I sometimes will get drive error on boot up. I also got a blue screen twice. My computer at times asked for a boot disk so I would just plug the power cord in other outlets and it would go through. I virus scanned my computer but nothing came up. I don't know what is wrong with the computer. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a problem with your hard drive as a whole, if you go to your start menu and click on run. In the wee box type cmd and hit enter. This should bring up a black console. In this type chkdsk /r then hit enter. This should run a diagnostic on your Hdd and repair any errors.
If this doesn't work then do you have a windows xp cd? If so put it in and restart your computer making sure you set your BIOS at the start to boot from CD/DVD ( you should see an option for setup or bios on the pc manufacturer screen before the windows xp screen starts and go to boot order) Once this starts up choose the option for repair and see if that works but try the first suggestion first.
