Is this an internal drive? or an external USB? If USB, have you tried it on another computer? If internal, boot into Setup (BIOS) and see if it shows up there.
The drive is WD 300 g. internal SATA, I did change it as it had many bad sectors and replaced it with another one. Installed the Os (windows 7) i the new one but as I connected the old drive, device manager shows it driver is ok, etc. My computer, however does not I did use test disk as instructed and still does not recogniza it. Incidentally, that is not the case with another internal drive thhe computer has and another extenal one. Thanks.
