I have a two part question. 1) I have a failing drive that I need to replace. What is the best, easiest and least expensive (read as free) way to image the old drive to the new? My failing drive is still working for now. My plan was to set up the new drive as a slave and proceed. That said will I have a problem when the new drive number is assigned and the old drive is removed?

2) I have a choice of an SATA drive or an IDE drive. My current drive is ATA 133. I assume that an adapter is available for SATA to IDE. Given that an adapter is available, would the SATA drive perform better than the IDE drive?

Well, nevermind friends. Had I read the information threads at the top of the page, instead of being in such a hurry, I could have saved myself a question. Good info by the way. Thanks
