I have a pc that is realy slow as well?? Its got a 2.4Ghz cpu, 1024Mb ram, 80gig hdd, with 15gig free, and windows xp pro installed. Its been slow for a few weeks now, done a virus & spyware/adware check all OK, defrag'd hdd, checked for errors aswell, errors came back OK, and defrag done 3 times to make sure its ok, and have made sure that there arnt any programs installed that i dont use.. Oh and defragged the ram aswell?

So i need some help as im realy getting stuck now?????

OS: win 7 32x 64x rtm



what are you running
video card
cpu
m/board
ram
power supply
brand
wattage

check the listings in the bios for voltages and temperatures and post them


check that any ide drives are running in dma mode and have not dropped back to pio mode

have you checked the drives are in dma mode
the 12v line is down slightly

Ive just updated the Bios, done a driver update and inf update, Using the live online update from MSI, And now doing all windows updates, then i will check the bios to see of the DMA issue?

Just had a look in the bios, what do you think i should have the access on under the HDD?

Got:
CHS
LBA
LARGE
AUTO

Its on AUTO at the moment?

Put all my HDD on LBA and my dvdrw drive also on LBA,

Thats what i used to put all my other PC's on,

CHANGING to CHS

Wouldnt load the OS

My System


When was the last time you installed windows on that computer? Might be time for a format and clean install. Especially as you've only got 15GB free on a 80GB hard drive.
