if a motherboard with SATA port has IDE PORT also will it slow down the speed of HDD(1TB) or the speed of the system as a whole? AND is there any motherboard without IDE PORT AND ONLY SATA port?

Only if you connect your HD to the IDE. And then, only marginally, when that drive is being accessed.

No. Unless, of course, you have your boot drive attached to IDE

There may be, but most manufacturers still include a single IDE port on their boards for users who still have IDE drives. I suspect even the single port will start disappearing soon.

The SATA ports work independently of the IDE port. One does not affect the other.

thanks a ton . actually i am going to attach my old 40 GB HDD IN IDE PORT AND THE NEW 1TB SATA HDD IN SATA PORT. I WILL JUST TRANSFER THE DATA TO THE NEW ONE.
