I have a Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H motherboard with an on board Realtek ALC892 codec. I suddenly am not getting any playback.I can go to the control panel set-up and test that two speakers and get sound; but, when I try to play a Music CD, no sound. I have checked all the settings and they are correct.
What could it be?
Thanks,
Joe

What media player are you trying to play the CD in? (ie) Windows Media Player? REAL player etc?
Try VLC player.

I ran into a similar weird issue, try this and see if it works, use Firefox, open a video on Youtube, look at the tab and check if you see a small mute button near the X, unmute it and see if it works..
