Please some one any one help me. I have a Emachines W3503. The ram it had was a single NaNya 512MB DDR-400MHz-CL3 PC3200-3011. It was garbage so i bought two PC3200-3011-CO 1GB DDR PC 3200 CL3 ECC. I plug it in and i get a beep code saying it has no RAM. What should i do. I have no more money. ANd if I retern them i loose 15%. Please tell my why it isn't working. The Emachines W3503 uses the ATI Express 200 as a motherboard. I think the Emachines BIOS is blocking the ram from working. Should I flash it with the ATI Bios.

PS. If so how do i the last time i flashed a bios i used a floppy drive i don't know how to do it with out one.

Thank you

Are you sure about the Model Number? I don't find a W3503 but I do find a W3502.
What brand is the new RAM? Have you tried with exh of the new sticks one at a time?
Remove ALL RAM and clear the CMOS. Install one stick of the new RAM and try to boot.
Your model is supposed to accept 2X1 GB of DDR3200 RAM so a Bios update should not be necessary.

The RAM you linked to is ECC (Error Correction Codes).....you want Non-ECC.
If you're pulling the CMOS battery to clear the CMOS, I suppose an hour or so but I don't think that will be necessary with the correct RAM.

ECC RAM is generally used on Server type Mobo's. Most PC's use Non-ECC RAM.
You could attempt to return the RAM for a refund or exchange. Geeks has the RAM you need for about twice the price.
