I just built a new PC and I have hit a brick wall.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M Plus/USB3
CPU: AMD FX 8350
RAM: 2 HyperX FURY 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
PSU: Rosewill SL-B400 BTX 400W
GPU: On board (for now)

Trying to boot the system there is no beep and no output to the monitor.

Removed the RAM. No beep for that either.

I checked the CPU to make sure it is in properly. I have reinstalled the RAM multiple times.

All power to the board is attached.

I replaced the battery.

Check the switch on the back of the PSU....making sure it's in the ON position.

bench testing meaning not in the case put motherboard on a piece of cardboard just put in cpu and cooler no ram and use board video if capable. hook power supply to motherboard you should here a beep if it has a motherboard speaker attached.

Board video is not capable. The instructions listed RAM. The speaker is attached.

I will go down to only board, CPU, video card, and PSU and see if that helps. Thanks

Did you get that mobo brand new or was it used or an open box?

After you bench test it....and it's still a no go...I'd RMA the mobo. Or it's your PSU. Rosewill in not a very good brand...IMO

Thanks for the help. Going to RMA. Bench tested with a different PSU. Still no luck.

Does the mobo have an internal led display? Anything that lights up at all? Do the fans work (assuming they are plugged into the mobo)? Did you provide power to the video card - most have one or more power connections?
