I didnt know where to post this so I am just putting it here hopefully someone can help me. My father has an old dell computer and I'd like to use it for now until I can afford a new one. Well everytime I turn it on it gets stuck in the black section where it tells me to put in the security password then it gives me options put in the password and either push <enter> to keep password enabled or press <ctrl> <enter> to disable password ... well i dont know the password.. so i tried pushing the ones to disable but I till need the password.. any help? Or does anyone know where I can go for help? Thank you in advance

hi,

to get the BIOS password, we cant tell you how because its hacking, but if u contact dell and get your dad to prove its his, they should tell you how to reset it.

if it is a supervisor password reset the cmos
if it is a rue security password only dell can reset it after you prove ownership
a true security password is there in case the computer is stolen rendering it useless
you have all the information we can give you under the rules of the form
so i am closing the thread
