Mistake

Hi everyone,

About two months ag my pc literally killed itself. I initially thought the problem was either the CPU had done a spinner or my motherboard, but not having any spare parts left (sold them) I have been unable to test where exactly the problem lies.

Now just the other day, I randomly pulled the pc back out of its closet, fired it up and nothing, about 10 minutes later I walk back into our room and the thing is going!?!?!?!?

Now when we finished watching our movie I shut it down and it hasnt started up again since.

It is all connected correctly, but I have previously thought the PSU was never enough to power it properly.

The motherboard light comes on when power is connected and PSU is switched on, but that's as far as it gets.

The system I have is :

ATRIX 500w PSU
P5N-E SLI motherboard
E8200 2.66 Dual core CPU
8800GTS 640mb Video card
2 x 1gb Crucial ballistix ram
and to test things have been using only 1 hard drive and no DVD writer but this still hasn't solved my problems.

If anyone would be able to tell me, yes, it's your PSU that would be awesome, otherwise any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm going to go with a yes its your power supply, despite not being able to actually find the full specs for the damn thing online I'm assuming it was preinstalled in the case and as a genral rule preinstalled power supply = weedy and ineffective.

Cheers guys, it wasnt preinstalled as I bought this case to build my new pc into. It was the one I had used for my old P4 rig but I went cheap and left out a new PSU... Ill be getting a corsair 650w though, after the babies born.... priorities......
