Hello - I am looking for some help with my Dell Dimension which I have
had for the last 4 years without any problem.

Problem Description
All of sudden, while I was browsing the net, my computer stopped
responding. So, I tried to Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot, but nothing
happened. Then I manually turned off the computer. And when powering
on the computer ... it would boot up just after the Dell Splash
Screen, the following message would appear as white text against a
black screen.

Quote:

INVALID BOOT DISKETTE
INSERT BOOT DISKETTE IN A:

Facts:
There is no floopy disk in Drive A:

System specs
Dell Dimension 4100
Windows XP
Norton Antivirus

What are your thoughts? I really appreciate any assistance!

Try rebooting your computer with the A drive power connector removed and see it that resets it ???

You could also try entering the BIOS and changing the device boot order to boot from HDD first, and then floppy. Failing this, turn the floppy off entirely within the BIOS, it'll save you opening up the case.
