My System

Hi guys, I'm back! I'm looking at possibly upgrading my MoBo and CPU this Black Friday/Cyber Monday and would like some suggestions. Planning to switch to Intel from AMD. Here is my current system and I will be keeping everything except MoBo, CPU and RAM:

MoBo: Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H
CPU: AMD A8-7600
PSU: Seasonic M12II 750
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
RAM: 16GB DDR3 11-11-11-28 (I will probably have to change this to DDR4)
Various HDDs and a SSD

Currently my CPU is running at very high usage. Right now with just Origin, Steam, and 7 Chrome tabs open it is at 87-95%. Any games immediately send it to 100% and I think it is really bottle-necking my GPU.

Thanks,
FSG

FSG, the CPU is an APU, which has integrated graphics, so the APU would be under utilized in terms of it's GFX capability..

Since it's an APU, the use case would be more around budget systems with low CPU utilization operations, else the CPU will run very high for resource intense apps.

We'll wait for some recommendations for Intel... :)

Anyone know why the i5-8400 has gone from $180 to $220? And has anyone noticed that Newegg's BF "sale" isn't actually a sale?

This thing is $150: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16813144213

Or this for $90: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...11&ignorebbr=1

Think I would rather have the Z390 though as it supports 9th Gen sockets.

I would probably choose the second board and go with Gen 8 cpu as Gen 9 is just out and there is so little available right now for it without flashing bios etc...
