This is a discussion on I7 950 2 cores? within the Motherboards, Bios & CPU forums, part of the Tech Support Forum category. Hello, I've been running some test on my system of late. I have run the CPU-Z program also CINEBENCH R15.
Besides reinstalling/updating chipset drivers, you can try this:
Open msconfig, select Normal startup and reboot. If that doesn't work, open msconfig again, switch to the Boot tab, click the Advanced options... button, uncheck the Number of processors option if it is ticked. If the option is already unchecked, tick it and select 8 from the drop-down list, click OK, apply the changes and reboot.
Thanks Masterchiefxx17, and Stancestans.
I had actually figured it out prior to your post Stancestans.
However Got me to wondering..if that core setting in Boot is wrong..as mine was. Does that actually limit my processors processing power? It seem to make a difference in my benchmarks in the CPU test on Cinebench15.
