Hello, I've been running some test on my system of late. I have run the CPU-Z program also CINEBENCH R15. They both display my i7 950 processor as 2 core.

Is this an error somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

My System

Are you on Windows 10? The chipset driver for the 950 most likely isn't functioning as intended.

Besides reinstalling/updating chipset drivers, you can try this:

Open msconfig, select Normal startup and reboot. If that doesn't work, open msconfig again, switch to the Boot tab, click the Advanced options... button, uncheck the Number of processors option if it is ticked. If the option is already unchecked, tick it and select 8 from the drop-down list, click OK, apply the changes and reboot.

Thanks Masterchiefxx17, and Stancestans.
I had actually figured it out prior to your post Stancestans.
However Got me to wondering..if that core setting in Boot is wrong..as mine was. Does that actually limit my processors processing power? It seem to make a difference in my benchmarks in the CPU test on Cinebench15.

What motherboard? It could also be a bios setting.
