duo processor question

Hi,

I've just got a quick question regarding my notebook. I have an intel core duo processor (1.83ghz). In my device manager i noticed 2 processors (1.83ghz). Does this mean I have 2 processors running at 1.83ghz at the same time? When I run a program, task, game, etc. are both processors being used? Can it be adjusted or allocated which of the processors runs a specific task?

I'm just not really familiar with the dual processor thing. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dual processors are 2 CPUs placed on one chip basically. It works like having two processors basically although itis just one.

When running games and other programs it usually uses both, not always equally and also it may just use one depending on what it is, but most uses both. I do not think you can easily adjust or allocate each processor. Usually I think Windows takes care of all that.

sorry if i missed anything.
