Hello.

I'm using win 7, Intel Core i7 4820k.

I was experiencing lag in the form of audio bits dropping and apps like discord not working or having my PC say i get 70 fps but having everything seem very stuttery, so i checked my utilization and 4 of the 8 processors where not utilized at all and the rest where at around 70.

I'm looking for solutions for this issue that explain what the problem could be and how to solve it.

Personal I'm suspecting windows 7 since it started after a win7 update on i think it was 15.5.2019 or 15.4.2019.

Someone else may have better details, but Windows (Win 7 anyway) always looks like this with cpu usage. Windows tries to share the load, but typically favors a single processor. The sharing (or lack there of) can also be a byproduct of the application itself. Older games, for example, by default will only run on a single cpu (GTR 2 comes to mind).

I've said all of that to say that in and of itself, what you've stated above isn't necessarily the sign of an issue.

I will also add that I'm also still running Win7 and the latest updates haven't changed my computer(s) performance or behavior.

Take a look at everything that is running when you see the issue, and eliminate those items one at a time.

I appreciate your response but my computer has always before evenly distributed the processing utilization equally and this issue comes with all apps.

I might look into buying win 10 but i would prefer a easier way.
