Planning on buying an Intel Pentium 4 630 Socket 775 processor Extreme Editon. Just wondering whether it will work with a motherboard only supporting Pentium 4??

That doesn't look like an Extreme Edition processor to me.

Number doesn't match (630 is a plain ole pentium 4 w/ht) and the box isn't right, neither is the price.

However, as just a plain ole 630, that processor will work with that board.

Ive had a look at a few websites regarding the board n the CPU n found that it was gonna work. With regards to the CPU being an 'Extreme Edition' it referred to the HT technology..

This is not a regular P4 w/ht it is the EM64T which has the 2mg catch also instead of the 1mg on the 530.630 At NEWEGG
