I have a ECS NF650i motherboard and a sidewinder case. The motherboard does not have a firewire port but my case does so i bought a firewire card but dont know what the pinout for the card is. It has 4 metal things coming off of it in the back that are supposed to be for a case port, but the cable coming from the case has 7 jumpers.

the jumpers are as follows
gray - gnd
black - VG
orange - tpa+
baby blue - tpa-
pink - tpb+
green - tpb-
white - VP

The second problem is the audio cables dont reach the motherboard. is there a way to fix this? I have no front audio. The front usb port cables reach but that is it. any help is greatly appreciated.

i think there is a misunderstanding here on the wires for your front panel / computer case

the fireport wires which are too short and 7pins are meant to attach to a motherboard connector

the controller card only has four pins for wires / I "believe" these four pins are meant only for a power connection so the controller card can pass power to the external fire wire drive >>>> but dont quote me on this >>> but rather an email to the card manufacturer & their tech support staff could confirm this >>>> but i am only guessing that similar to the e-sata controller cards which actually have a 4 pin molex attach to them >>>> I'll bet that controller card can have a power connector much like the floppy drive power connector attach to it ????? not sure though

I think if you want to bring front panel audio and firewire to your computer front panel and you dont have a fire wire motherboard >>>> I would abandon your current endeavor and look to a ALL in 1 card reader

that will give you

A) USB connection at the front panel

B) fire wire connection at the front panel

C) e-sata at the front panel

D) audio outputs

E) memory card readers

i have an all in one card reader, but it doesnt have the firewire. When i built my pc they were still on the pricy side. It does have audio connectors, i was just trying to make my case fully functional.
