After replacing CPU cooler, computer fails to boot..will not boot at all! No mouse, keyboard, beeps or anything; led's and fans work. Black screen w/white text reads:
Boot Block Compatible Ver.042
Please don't insert any disc into CD-ROM or floppy drive if you want to recovery with an USB device.
Bad BIOS checksum. Starting BIOS recovery...blah blah etc.
Then it proceeds to search for floppy drive and CD-ROM over and over until I shut off computer.
Tried replacing 3v battery..didn't work.
Tried clearing cmos with jumper...didn't work either.
Tried mobo support cd that came with board, says:
Error! The BIOS is too old, or not compatible with current motherboard hardware.
Tried another mobo in same case w/all same hardware including CPU, ram, GPU card etc. and it boots, eliminating all other hardware possibilities, so it has to be a mobo/BIOS problem.
Is there any way to fix this or should I call the undertaker?
