I have an ASUS STRIX Z270E MB with BIOS version 0906. Lately I have been having some issues on startup (Windows 10 64 bit) connecting to my wired ethernet. It sometimes just sits there for a minute or so then finally connects. I have other random USB warnings as well but nothing seems to really be effected.

I thought I would check for BIOS updates and discovered the latest update was a few days ago, version 1302. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about how risky this upgrade might be. The current BIOS is from an upgrade I did because of an issue I was having with a Samsung 960 EVO drive. That BIOS update fixed the drive problem. Although I had some minor issues all worked out well. I'm always hesitant to perform BIOS upgrades.

Asus motherboards have BIOS recovery options if something does go wrong. Nowadays I find it to be a safer procedure than the past.
