I am involved in a charity and we are considering a purchase of a new PC. It will be just for day-to-day computing (YouTube, browsing, MS Office mainly) - nothing heavy.

With these two processors, is there a vast difference (given our proposed usage)?

Intel Core i5 and Intel Pentium 4405U

I'm only interested in a quick comparison, as I don't know the difference.

Hi Tristar

The range is about €700. However, they are looking for a large monitor also and that would knock about €150 off the price.

The one they are thinking of buying is HP 22-b020na All in One Desktop and they have been offered a very good price on it.

Spec is as follows and I was wondering about the processor.

Windows 10 Home 64
Intel Pentium J3710 processor
21.5" diagonal Full HD display
8GB RAM and 1TB storage
3-in-1 card reader

Is there a similar AIO to compare with i5 ? Because if you're comparing a Desktop tower to AIO, they would differ in price....

From what I posted earlier..
i5 - performance
P - better value for money with comparatively lower energy consumption..

Thanks tristar

There really is not a comparable AIO and the benefit of the monitor is attractive to them.

The original comparison would have been to a HP Pavilion SHPP3556

Intel Core i5
1TB Hard Drive
8Gb RAM

I'd go with the i5 just to be future proof since it supports DDR4 and i5 has better performance...

But for your basic day to day stuff spreadsheets and browsers and such, the AIO should get by...

I see the Pav priced at ~$540, comparatively cheaper... The AIO usually is on the higher side...

DPC Latency Issue!
My sound was popping for a while due to DPC latency, and updating the network drivers seemed to fix it. It doesn't pop anymore, but I still get this minor jump in DPC every three seconds. DPC Latency Checker shows the 3-second jump. Every couple of minutes or so, it goes a bit higher, but it...
