Roll Eyes

Hi, recently I've formatted my PC because I had been having some problems with my mouse which has been sorted (for now), and since I've formatted I've encountered problems with my wireless adapter.

And the main problem at the moment is that it can't seem to work with steam, whats happening is I start steam up it loads the store page but the images are sort of distorted some don't even load. Some do load and others come up with half then weird messed up colours.

It also does not allow me to download any games on steam.

I also had to go onto another laptop install steam on it get the files from there and put them into my steam folder to get it to work.

Keep in mind I used the wireless adapter on the other system to download and install steam, so it works on a different system but not mine..

Please help!! Thanks.

Hi AmusedIris,

Make sure all of the hardware drivers are installed on your computer. May I ask, what is the brand/model of your wireless adapter? Is your computer a desktop or a laptop?

I've installed all of the hardware drivers, and it is a Dlink dwa 140 wireless N adapter, I'm on a desktop.

It also seems I cannot install league of legends either, I think when i'm downloading through my adapter it doesn't quite download everything or it corrupts it.

Lets take a peek at your network environment:

First:

Power Cycle everything . . Turn off the Modem, router and all pc's . . turn on the Modem and wait a few minutes for the lights to stabilize . . then turn on the router, then one pc at a time. See if you connect to the internet.

Then:

Remove all the stored wireless network profiles and search for the network again.

How to Remove Stored Wireless Network Profiles for XP, Vista, and Windows 7

Then: check your browser's settings, remove any proxy settings if found here's how.

Then:

with the pc connected to the router, Click on Start . . Run . . type CMD

At the > prompt type or copy and paste the following command:

ipconfig/all > 0 & notepad 0

and press enter.

Come back here and Paste the results in a message.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB drive, or a CD-R disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

then please Download and run this Xirrus WiFi Inspector, click the Networks link on the upper left and paste a screen shot of that screen here. Note that this application requires NET Framework to run. If you get an error about a missing function, download and install NET Framework.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here. For Vista and Windows 7, 8 you can use the Windows Snipping Tool

I have now found a way to get round all the problems by using a Ultrasurf (VPN). Does anybody know what that could suggest?:S

Might want to look at the last post in this thread to see if country location is the issue.
