Fiber Optic cables are the first choice when it comes to making network installations and upgrades. This is because they transmit data really fast. They’re also the most preferred option for enabling good quality internet connection. So what else makes them superior to copper cables?

Simply put you choose fiber when distance exceeds copper specs OR the environment has a lot of EMF in which case fiber is the correct choice. Both fiber and copper can do 10GbE so one is not faster than the other.
