I have a laptop running windows 7 ultimate x64. If i connect to a wireless network it works just fine. But if I connect to a different network through the wired connection after connecting wirelessly to a different network, it comes up as an unidentified network. And vice versa with the wired connection.

Welcome to TSF!

I suspect the issue you are running into is one of two gateways.

What you describe is what ever gateway you are on at the time you connect to the other network the newly connected network's gateways is taking over thereby breaking your connection to the original gateway.

Usually its the wired gateway that has precedence but that doesn't seem to be the case in your situation.

When this happens go to a command prompt and type nslookup yahoo.com
Does it resolve the name correctly?
If you do a tracert yahoo.com which interface is it going out?

:-) that's a no internet go.

lets drop to basics and with both interfaces enabled go to a command prompt type ipconfig /all and post the results for review.

From those ip addresses it doesn't appear you are connecting to two different networks but to the same network. Both gateways are 192.168.1.1

Now if this is two different physical networks you can't connect to both since they both use the same subnet. You would need to renumber the network you have control over to be able to connect to both.

192.168.0.x would work fine.

192.168.0.x is used by the modem behind the wireless router. The wired router does not have an internet connection. It's just for connecting devices and such.

Then use 192.168.2.x for subnet. You need to change the non internet routers lan/dhcp range.

Or turn off dhcp server on the router all together and just let devices default to apipa ips of 169.254.x.x. Since apipa doesn't provide a gateway its your best choice.

This does assume you don't want the devices connecting to this router to have internet access.

I can change the ip address and the gateway address. I can't change the subnet mask to anything but 255.255.255.0.

No issue with not being able to change the subnet mask. Why does that concern you? Understand the difference between subnet and subnet mask?

You understand why having the same subnet on each interface causes problems?

I thought it might be important to the problem. But either way, it works now. Thank you for the help.
