I used a wireless connection for a couple years. I moved cities and now I want to use a wired connection. I am not able to connect to the internet at all with the newest(2015) Realtek driver. The only way I can get a wired connection is by rolling back the driver to previous(2013) version and change speed and duplex to 10mbps. I would like to get internet without bottlenecking myself.
My computer is the only one that doesn't auto connect @ 100mbps.

Any help is appreciated :)

My system: HP ENVY dv7 Notebook PC
My Router: Linksys e1200 v2
My Adapter: Realtek RTL8168
Cable: 25ft Flat CAT6 Ethernet Cable
OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

Okay I used my roommate's computer(2) as the control.
I plugged the 25ft cat6 into computer(2) and at first it identified my router as "unidentified network" but after I did the automated troubleshoot problems it said DHCP wasnt enabled. I chose to enable it then computer(2) successfully connected to my router @ 100mbps.

Observation: When computer(2) successfully connected, it displayed the custom network name that I set. When using the 10mbps on my computer(1), the network name is generic Linksys578
